Cupping Profile: Sweet Aroma, plums, cherries and caramel. Mild acidity, with a vibrant body and milk chocolate finish.
Huehuetenango from the north highlands are exceptional coffees with distinct acidity and fruity flavors. Of the three non-volcanic regions, it is the highest and driest under cultivation. Due to the dry, hot winds that blow into the mountains from Mexico’s Tehuantepec plain, the region is protected from frost, allowing cultivation between 5000 and 5500 feet above sea level. Guatemala is one of the worlds top coffee origins and the eighth largest producer.
*SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) specifies that the coffee was grown at an altitude above 1350 meters. This term is also synonymous with SHG/Strictly High Grown; this classification is higher than HB.
*EP (European Preparation) specifies that the raw beans are all hand sorted to remove any defective beans and foreign material.
