The Queen City bean lots are set apart from other Harrar coffees due to the thorough sorting and defect screening process that takes place during the initial collection of coffee. Most exporters selling Harrar will acquire a blend of high- and low-quality beans from all over the Harrar region and execute a basic cleaning and sorting process to remove foreign matter like rocks and sticks.
The results once roasted is what gives this origin its unique distinquishing characteristics in its color variations in a light/medium roast profile.
Queen City Harrar is compiled from choice lots acquired at the Ethiopia Commodities Exchange (ECX) auction, which are then sorted again to ensure a final product superior to other Harrar offerings.
